We introduce a new workshop format

Generative AIs like ChatGPT have been a hot topic in the world of artificial intelligence, with some experts questioning whether they are overhyped. However, as more employees use these tools in their daily work processes, it’s clear they have the potential to revolutionize the way we work. The challenge for companies is to properly integrate these tools into their workflows and processes to maximize their benefits.

In this article, we introduce a new workshop format that helps companies identify areas where generative AI can be applied, evaluate its effectiveness, and develop strategies for integrating it into workflows and processes. We developed a 3-module approach to this workshop concept. This article concentrates on the Understand-Module which introduces the technology to starters, helps identifying relevant GenAIs and strategically plan their usage and implementation in work processes. During the modules Inspire and Apply, participants will practically use these tools and learn to improve their prompting.

Demystifying Generative AI

Participants at the workshop will learn how generative AI works, including its various techniques and algorithms. They’ll also understand the limitations of these tools and where human-machine collaboration is needed to achieve optimal results. For example, while generative AI models like ChatGPT can create human-like text, they still require human input and guidance to ensure accuracy and relevance. Similarly, image-generating AIs like Midjourney can create stunning visuals, but human input is necessary to ensure the images are aligned with the company’s brand and message. By taking participants under the hood of these tools, the workshop helps companies identify where and how to use generative AI effectively.

Generative AI Cards

Identifying Potential Use Cases

Participants at the workshop will identify job activities that could benefit from generative AI. We have developed GenAI Use Case Cards that participants can use to map suitable use cases to their job activities. The front side of the cards includes use cases and scenarios like automating repetitive tasks, generating content, and personalizing communications. By selecting relevant cards, participants can identify areas where generative AI could be applied to save time, increase efficiency, and improve results. The backside of the cards contains additional information on how companies are applying the use case and lists suitable generative AI models for specific tasks.

Challenges of Implementing Generative AI in Corporate Environments

Companies need to consider challenges like compliance with regulations and the need for human oversight when implementing generative AI. Participants will use the DAIN Studios Generative AI Canvas to address these challenges by identifying key opportunities, risks, and challenges associated with implementing these tools. The canvas helps teams develop a plan for integrating generative AI into workflows and processes, define how the human-machine interaction process looks like, and how the generative AI outputs will be used.

The workshop provides a structured approach to exploring the potential of generative AI, helping companies make informed decisions about incorporating this technology into their workflows and processes. By identifying potential use cases, understanding how generative AI works, and addressing the challenges of implementation, companies can unlock the true potential of generative AI.
