Technology is changing how organizations operate, but its biggest impact lies in how we learn. At DAIN Studios, learning and transformation are closely connected. To keep up with the pace of change, we need better ways to access, share, and apply knowledge. That is why we have brought our Data & AI Maturity Model (DAMM) to NotebookLM, an interactive workspace by Google.
A Living Model of Data and AI Maturity
Our Data & AI Maturity Model defines nine building blocks, from Strategy & Vision to Architecture & Technology, that guide organizations on their journey toward data-driven decision-making. Until now, this model existed in reports, presentations, and client workshops. Publishing it in NotebookLM turns it into an interactive resource.
Users can explore the model, ask questions, and receive explanations directly from DAIN’s own material. It offers a new form of access and a more active way to learn.

Example interaction inside the DAIN Studios NotebookLM: users can ask practical questions like “Where should I start our AI transformation?” and receive tailored, model-based guidance grounded in DAIN’s Data & AI Maturity Model.
A New Interface for Knowledge
As Dirk Hofmann, co-founder and co-CEO of DAIN Studios, notes in AI Is Forcing Us to Rethink How We Learn, learning can no longer be episodic. It must become continuous and embedded in daily work. NotebookLM supports that idea. It functions as a digital tutor for organizational knowledge, connecting related materials and helping users explore them in context. The goal is not just to read but to understand and apply.
What NotebookLM Is
NotebookLM is an AI-powered research and note-taking tool created by Google. It allows users to upload and interact with multiple curated sources, including PDFs, Google Docs, websites, and videos. The system can summarize, compare, and explain the content, create FAQs, or generate audio briefings and study guides. Anyone with a Google account can explore public notebooks, ask questions, and learn directly from the material.
From Knowledge Management to Applied Intelligence
The DAIN NotebookLM represents a shift in how organizations can work with their own knowledge. It helps structure and interpret complex information, making it easier to connect strategy, methods, and outcomes. In many ways, it acts as a knowledge partner — one that organizes what is known and helps uncover what is missing.

An example of the mind map view in Google NotebookLM, showing how DAIN Studios’ Data & AI Maturity Model can be explored interactively through its nine building blocks and their connections.
For DAIN Studios, this is also an experiment in applied intelligence. Our work has always combined strategy and implementation. NotebookLM allows us to extend that approach into how we communicate and teach. It turns our frameworks into something that can be explored and questioned, giving users a direct experience of our way of thinking.
Learning by Doing
At DAIN Studios, we view learning and doing as parts of the same process. Exploring new tools is not a side activity but a method of learning itself. By using NotebookLM, we put our own principles into practice: testing, iterating, and improving as we go. This NotebookLM is also work-in-progress – it will be developed as new features come available.
This approach also reflects how we work with clients. The best way to understand data and AI is to use them in real projects. When organizations learn by doing, they build lasting capabilities. In that sense, the DAIN Studios NotebookLM is both a resource and an example — it shows what it means to turn a model into something usable, dynamic, and alive.
Access and Collaboration
The DAIN Studios NotebookLM is open to anyone with a Google account. It provides a structured view of our Maturity Model and allows users to explore each of its nine building blocks in their own way. Teams can use it to guide internal discussions, benchmark maturity, or discover areas for improvement.
For us, sharing the model in this form is also an invitation to collaborate. Knowledge grows through use, and we see this platform as a space for dialogue — a place where ideas can be tested, refined, and expanded over time.
