Digitalization Transforming Nordea
Nordea hosted the latest Helsinki Data Science Meetup, bringing together data and AI professionals from across the region for an evening focused on how digitalization and artificial intelligence are transforming modern banking. As the largest financial services group in the Nordics, Nordea offered an inside look at how data science, machine learning and automation are reshaping everything from customer experience to risk management.
Nordea’s experts — Jacob Bloch Andersen, Christian Olsson Sihvonen, Théodore Zitouni, Kari Vasko, Tuomo Lehtovaara and Matti Honkanen — shared insights and concrete examples from ongoing initiatives across the bank. Their talks demonstrated both the scale of Nordea’s digital transformation and the growing importance of a strong, data-driven culture.
Hosting the meetup at Nordea’s premises also highlighted the bank’s active role in the wider data community. The event brought together practitioners, researchers and industry leaders to exchange experiences, compare approaches and explore what the next wave of AI innovation means for the financial sector.
A warm thank-you to everyone who joined. The strong turnout and lively conversations showed once again why Helsinki’s data science community continues to thrive.
